I first got into showing dogs in 1973 when I purchased a Lhasa Apso and was told that although I was buying a pet, he was show quality. I had grown up showing horses and my curiosity was roused. I started handling classes and with confidence, went off to my first dog show. My dog won the points that day from the 6 - 9 month puppy class and I was hooked.
My children's early years were spent attending dog shows but as family life got more involved it became harder and harder to attend shows. And my showing gradually tapered off.
In 1990, I purchased my first Yorkshire Terrier and there begins part II of my story.
My first show Yorkie was Ch. Mariah's Innuendo and he, along with his daughter Mariah's Lady Slipper have formed the foundation of my breeding program.
Looking to getting a second breed, I became interested in the Lowchen. I was very fortunate to acquire my first Lowchen from Pamm and Jeanne Tapscott. And I am now enjoying the Lowchen along with the Yorkies.
I breed always to the AKC standard with health and temperament foremost considerations.
